There are many species of squid, ranging from less than an inch to the 60-foot giant squid. Squid are related to octopus, and eat fish and shellfish. Many predators including sharks, whales and seals feed on squid. To protect themselves, they often travel in large schools, squirt ink to confuse predators, and can change color to blend in with their surroundings.
